The festival features many more Hungarian foods and drinks, including spicy sausages, langosh (deep fried flat bread), chimney cakes, pancakes and other fantastic culinary enjoyments. You can taste the famous Hungarian palinka (a spirit made from pure fruits) and great wines. In addition, cultural activities as live folk music and folk dance, handmade crafts and artisan products, puppet show, face painting are also provided for your entertainment. The traders and entertainers wear authentic costume to show our colourful traditions. A great opportunity to dig into Hungarian cuisine and culture! Come and celebrate all things Hungarian with us!

Ever wondered how a kestrel hovers or what speed a peregrine can dive at? Come along to this evening where experts Nigel and Molly, who have many years experience of working with birds of prey, will answer your questions. As well as a talk they will be flying the birds in the visitor centre, so a great opportunity to see these majestic birds up close.

For Museums at Night we are joined by Jerwood/FVU Award winners Patrick Hough and Lawrence Lek for a series of exciting discussions about their individual commissions and interest in moving image as an artistic medium.

Taking place inside one of Europe’s Largest touring bier tents for a Bavarian style festival including a showcase some of the best and authentic oompah bands from around the world across all three sessions.

It’s time for Dia De Muertos – Day of the Dead! A carnival atmosphere with candy skulls all over the place, and real Latin American flair - all under one roof!

We’ve gone all out on providing an authentic Dia De Muertos experience for you: expect world-renowned acrobats, theatrical circus performers, and professional Latin dancers performing throughout the night! 


Day of the Dead just wouldn’t be the same without great music, and we’re pushing the boat out this year with live percussionist performances and a host of international DJs. Combined with Europe’s largest confetti cannons and CO2 guns, pyrotechnics and fire breathers, Day of the Dead is set to be the most insane spectacle of the year!

There will be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved with the Day of the Dead festivities – professional film makeup artists will be running a candy skull face painting station, and huge piñatas will be scattered around that will need teams of you to break open!

Make sure you don’t miss out on this year’s most spectacular event – Day of the Dead!
