Justyna Isobel, a qualified counsellor and dance & movement therapist, and Jade, a feminist* blogger and local advocate, warmly invite you to attend the first of a series of friendly, inclusive monthly get-togethers, for women of all ages who are feeling disillusioned, burnt-out, stressed, disenfranchised or unsupported.
(*Please don’t be scared by the F word! We believe in the Cambridge Dictionary definition of feminism: “that women should be allowed the same rights, power, and opportunities as men” and would like to reclaim it as a positive.)
Each session will be partly focused on well-being (including some simple mindfulness, movement and relaxation activities), part feminist workshop (discussing a different theme each month) and part supportive network (looking at how we as women can best empower and help each other and the next generation).
We will share a simple, tasty brunch, get to know each other, spend some time focusing on ourselves as partners, mothers, friends, workers, bosses and consumers, and share the issues and themes that are most important to us. In a world where women are supposed to be able to ‘have it all’, fulfilling all the roles demanded of us often feels more difficult than ever.
If you feel frustrated by society’s expectations, if you’d like to take some time to breathe in a safe space, if you could really do with talking to like-minded women, then, please, join us at the Women’s Huddle.
We will run the sessions in a relaxed and open space that also has an area where accompanying children can run around and play – as single mothers ourselves we really don't want a lack of childcare to be a barrier to attendance
